2012 Greater Louisville Hamfest

Perfect weather added to the great turnout at this year's Louisville Hamfest in Shepherdsville, Ky. Amateur license testing was provided and meterologist Kevin Harned from WAVE3 and Joe Sullivan from the National Weather Service gave excellent presentations.

Ham World, Inc. from Talladega, AL was the big hit of the show with the latest Chinese built handhelds from Baofeng, Quansheng and Wouxun at extremely low prices! We'll see how they compare after hams put in their reviews on eHam. Still at the show hams were up and running in munutes per the local talk-in frequency. So the big three per Icom, Kenwood and Yaesu may have some worries as the Chinese are coming!

The Bullitt Amateur Radio Society and the Clark County ARC also had booths selling used gear in support of their Amateur clubs. The Jefferson County Search Dog Association was also present with a lot of four-legged friends to pet!

Thanks to all for attending and see you next year!
